You may not have known, but your Android phone has a variety of web browsers available for it, just like your personal computer. Mozilla Firefox, one of the most popular browsers for desktops, is available on Android as well. Here are five reasons why you should switch to Firefox for a better Android browsing experience:

1. Firefox Sync

Firefox lets you sync your mobile and desktop browser settings. This includes tabs, add-ons, passwords, and more. Use this to keep yourself organized whether you’re at home or on the go.

2. Speed

When I browse for TexasElectricityProviders, music, or I just want to have a little fun I always use Firefox. Firefox is an open and standards compliant browser that makes traveling on the web quite easy and probably one of the biggest benefits is that it does not owe a ton to Microsoft or any other big name agencies like Internet Explorer, Google or any other top of the line browser. What this means is that you essentially get an unfettered online experience without all the BS business and politics that come along for the ride. Firefox is much simpler to use than most of the other big name internet browsers and that alone is enough of a benefit. Users both young and old rarely have trouble jumping right in and because it is non-profit there are no shady things happening in the background during your search that might slow down operation or bring everything to a screeching halt. Simply put, Firefox is a much easier and much more coherent browser for both the initiated and the uninitiated to just dive right in and enjoy the wealth of information and options that the internet holds for anyone willing to enter.

Downloading Firefox is a free web browser, and it has gained a 20 percent market share since its release in 2004. To most, Mozilla Firefox is just an internet browser like ‘Internet Explorer’ by Microsoft.

Actually, Firefox was developed by the Mozilla project, which became the Mozilla Foundation, a non-profit. For about ten years, Mozilla’s programmers and many independent programmers have developed and refined Firefox, the Netscape browser, a variety of other browsers, development tools and more.

The purpose of the non-profit is to keep the web in the public sphere. So much of the Read the rest of this entry »

There are many pro’s of using Firefox as your browser and few cons. Firefox is clearly faster to use, and even someone who it not technical will notice the difference once they have switched over from Internet Explorer. When surfing the Internet, web pages load slower in IE, but there is no way of knowing this unless you have used a faster browser.

Another important benefit to using Firefox is that it is less susceptible to an attack from a virus. Granted the security in Firefox is good, but much of security against virus Read the rest of this entry »

One of the great advantages of using Mozilla’s Firefox as your default browser is its awesome speed and power. Firefox is a real powerhouse, but be sure you have enough RAM, as it can eat some of that up. One “gig” of RAM is usually enough, but two gigs RAM or higher is better. Also a dual-core processor also helps when running Firefox. The other great thing about Firefox is that all their hundreds of applications, add-on, plug-ins, extensions, etc., are open-source. This is the opposite of some of the Read the rest of this entry »

The last update of Mozilla Firefox included many new security features, making it the most secure browser Mozilla has released. If you access a site that can possibly attack your computer, Mozilla will tell you why it is not safe for you to access that site. The browser will work with your anti-virus software to automatically check all downloads for malware and viruses. Private Browsing Mode is an available option that allows you to opt out of saving your browsing history. Firefox also gives you the option of not allowing behavioral tracking. The Forget This Site features Read the rest of this entry »

With Firefox you can get to your favorite websites fast whether you remember the URLs or not. It’s the auto-complete function that makes it possible for you to find what you are looking for quickly. Just type your keyword into the location bar and possible matches will spring up from several areas. The search will bring up URLs from your browsing history, bookmarks and open tabs.

Firefox’s location bar is sometimes nicknamed “The Awesome Bar” because it gets you to where you want to go fast. It does this by “learning” as Read the rest of this entry »
